Bleach

The Review

I want to warn you before you continue reading this article contains major spoilers of Bleach and the entire story, to the most recent manga chapters and anime in English and Japanese, if you don't want to be spoiled then you have been warned!

Well where do I start?

...

How about this: Bleach is a horrible show in it's entirety.

Yeah I said it.

If you're reading this you're probably a big fan of the show or you're not and want to know what I'm going to say, and some of you already want to tell me how stupid I am, well let me give you something:

spikerman87@hotmail.com

Go ahead, write....go on...tell me how I'm wrong and how stupid I am for not liking Bleach.

.....You done? Ok well now that you've got that out of you're system are you ready to hear my reasons?

I'm going to start with where the story goes completely wrong, (except for the fillers) When Aizen reaches the fake town.

Aizen revealed his true plans and enters the Fake Karakura Town along with Gin, Tousen, and Stark, Barragian and Halibel.

Here's the first thing that makes no logical sense, and actually his descions are up there with Dr. Evil:

Captain Commander Yamamoto.

"Just because he's old doesn't mean he's smart"

The thing I keep coming back to is the first move he makes against Aizen and his group, he takes out his sword and makes a flaming prison surround Aizen, Gin, and Tousen.

.......Why?

And don't say it's to stop them from fighting...That's not what I ment, why didn't Yamamoto use his sword to actually DAMAGE them?

"Too bad we don't have any marshmellows."

This action of putting the 3 of them in a flaming cage doesn't make sense for a lot of reasons, one being that even if they weren't imprisoned...they wouldn't do anything, also later on you'll see that Aizen is probably powerful enough to get out of this prison if he wanted to, but no if you can't figure it out by now the entire "Flaming Prison" attack is nothing but PLOT CONVENIENCE, it's trying to say something like "Well Aizen and them couldn't do anything because they were in the flaming-"

YES THEY COULD HAVE.

It's idiotic if you beleive Aizen couldn't have gotten out of that mess, why didn't he you ask? Because of bad writing that's why.

Ok enough about that, I have plenty more to discuss so let's move on.

After the flaming cage the Espada fight the Soul Reapers, and what a suprise they win...after the Vizard come to help them.

And this is where Aizen starts fighting and this is where things don't really add up with this character called "Aizen"

Pretty much whoever is left fights against Aizen to try and kill him....they fail...and not only do they fail...they epicly fail.

Komamura is the first to go down as Aizen just cuts a huge slash through his giant Bankai, then he slashes Rose by pulling his whip towards him, he ties up Love with Rose's whip, he cuts Lisa while mocking her trying to use her Vizard mask.

Then we come to Soi Fong

If you don't know...you probably do but if you don't remember Soi Fong has this ability where if she stabs someone in the same spot twice with her stinger the victim dies instantly...and she uses it on Aizen...

IT DOESN'T WORK.

Why doesn't it work? Because Aizen just says his power level is so much higher than Soi Fong's that it doesn't matter.

Oh...ok

Shunsui then uses his shadow thing to stab Aizen from behind which goes through his chest...

IT DOESN'T WORK

then Hitsugaya stabs him through the back.

Well actually he stabs his girlfriend

That's a big whoops

I'll give credit to that, Aizen uses his illusion powers and switches places with Hinamori which did suprise me, this of course throws Hitsugaya in a rage and then this happens.

"Quadruple Tap Baby!"

In the Manga it makes this part look like Aizen just smashes all four of them in one hit, in the anime it's a little different, but who cares all four of them go down like it's nothing.

So let's go over what just happened shall we?

Well now there's only two people left that can deal with Aizen, that would be Ichigo and....

We're doomed.

Yamamoto confronts Aizen...to which Aizen responds with stabbing him in the stomach, and then Yamamoto grabs Aizen's arm.

Aizen taunts him and asks if that arm is really "his" arm seeing as how he has that very convenient illusion powers, but Yamamoto states that he knows it's him because of the power going through his sword, makes sense, so now Yamamoto reveals his master plan for defeating Aizen:

He's going to use a flaming cage to kill Aizen, himself, and everyone else in the cage...which is everyone that was just defeated.

And I have just one question:

Why?

Why not...stab him back?? Why not...use your Bankai?...Why not....do anything else except kill the poor defensless main characters on the ground that we actually care about?

But here's the big question, does it work? Well we never find out because Wonderweiss comes in and seals Yamamoto's Sword powers.

oh by the way...

(IT WOULDN'T HAVE WORKED)

Aizen reveals that he created Wonderweiss to seal Yamamoto's powers...which again is not a plot hole, that one makes sense because he knows he can't best Yamamoto so...he made Wonderweiss.

Well Yamamoto responds by punching Wonderweiss and states:

"There hasn't been a Soul Reaper more powerful than me born in the last 1,000 years."

...

um...really? Well we really are doomed if you're struggling with Aizen.

Let's give him a big hug!

Long story short Yamamoto kills Wonderweiss

And by doing that all the sealed powers that Wonderweiss had explode and Yamamoto stops it from destroying the Fake Town which would have probably killed everyone....And if you recall that was Yamamoto's first plan...so...nevermind.

anyways Yamamoto is down, and Aizen decides to finish off Yamamoto with his own sword, but suddenly the old man grabs Aizen's ankle and does this:

Aizen says that this is a forbidden technique that can only be activated by using one's own body as a catalyst and he referred to it as the spell of sacrifice. The spell causes a massive pillar of red fire to erupt from the ground in the shape of a katana's tip. and when he used this spell, Yamamoto lost his left arm

So ok...yes this is an impressive attack...and the old man even lost his arm as a very very very VERY last ditch effort to hurt Aizen.

BUT remember, something like this is only worth it if it works......now look at how much damage it did to Aizen:

IT DIDN'T.......FLIPPIN.........WORK!!!!!!!!!

Not only did it not work...it didn't do anything....not a single dad gum thing to Aizen, his outfit is a little dirty, but he didn't get a scratch, he's not bleeding even a little bit...

So everyone, what have we learned about Yamamoto?

Well all his plans involved killng himself and he fails even more than his underlings because he did less damage than Shinji and Shunshi.

And yes I know how this looks and how it sounds, it's like saying Chuck Norris isn't as awesome as he really is, or Yoda wasn't the greatest Jedi ever...no that was Mace Windu because he actually defeated the Emperor.

So have we established yet that Aizen is invincible? No we need to hammer it in some more.

Ichigo uses the chance that Yamamoto gave him to cut Aizen's left shoulder the moment he escapes the 96 Hado

IT DOESN'T...well it wasn't lethal nevermind.

I think the fail with that moment is that Ichigo hit his shoulder...which just heals thanks to the Hōgyoku.

You know what I have a brilliant idea...aim for his head...cut his HEAD off, every time they try to kill him they aim for his chest for some reason...why? Stab him through the head, problem solved...oh wait that wouldn't work either wouldn't it? Why? Because...

HE'S AIZEN.

After Ichigo misses the opportunity to end the story before it gets worse, Aizen starts explaining that he's been watching Ichigo his whole life and everything that Ichigo did was apart of his master plan...which is never explained.

But I do love how the anime version spends most of this episode in flashbacks because the director doesn't think he's beat the dead horse enough to keep stalling this series with flash back, fillers, and pointless subplots. As long as they get all of you and your grandma's money out of merchindise.

Ichigo's dad Isshin comes in and tries to get Ichigo's will to fight back while Aizen and Gin have one of their first tense moments.

Ichigo then fights against Gin, and Isshin fights against Aizen, and then Aizen introduces the largest, gargantuain, Grand Canyon sized plot hole in this entire story, that the Hōgyoku has a will of it's own

He claims that it has brought about the "miracles" surrounding Ichigo, Rukia and Urahara. He continues to explain that Urahara misunderstood the nature of the Hōgyoku because the breakdown of the barrier between Shinigami and Hollow was his own desire. He claims that Ichigo, Sado and Orihime all got their power from the Hōgyoku

So how does that work? A while ago Aizen said that he'd been watching Ichigo because when he was born he was special, now he says the Hōgyoku gave him his powers? Also if the Hōgyoku can grant the desires of those around it...this war wouldn't have happened because someone wouldn't have wanted it to happen-

you know what forget it.

Urahara finally arrives, he shoots Aizen through the shoulder.

IT DOESN'T WORK.

But then Urahara uses a lot of different binding spells, he blasts him, and that doesn't work either, but he puts a seal on him in which Aizen get's blasted by his own power and...

He turns into Deadpool! AAAAH!!

Well no this is the chrysalis stage of his evolution with the Hōgyoku which is suppose to be like a coccon I guess.

Anyways he fights Urahara and Isshin and then Yoruchi shows up...but they all get defeated and Ichigo looses his stomach and everything else in his digestive system because he just realized that Aizen will not be denied.

Aizen then emerges from Deadpool stage (Awww) and he and Gin go to the Real Karakura Town which was moved to Soul Society

Well on their way to Soul Society Aizen destroys the cleaner in the Precipice World, they walk slowly and calmly toward the town as Ichigo and Isshin follow, Isshin realizes that the cleaner in the Precipice world is gone so he decides that Ichigo needs to stay in there so he can learn the Final Getsgua Tenshou.

Bum Bum BUUUM!

Aizen then for some...really odd reason starts to chase Ichigo's friends around the town instead of...making the King's Key.

Matusmoto arrives to confront Gin and Aizen to let Ichigo's friends escape, Gin takes Matsumoto away so they can talk.

OK NOW.

This is the opportunie moment to get some answers from Gin as to why he's following Aizen, for some emotion as we've been waiting for this moment for...400 chapters in the manga and over 300 Episodes in the Anime.

Gin slashes her.

....................................................................

Yeah thanks.

Anyways Gin comes back and decides enough is enough, he stabs Aizen through the chest....not the HEAD....the chest and explains that he left a fragment of his sword in Aizen's heart, which had a poison that will dissolve his cells and kill him from the inside out.

Well played Mr. Gin

.......except

IT DOESN'T WORK.

Gin is sucessful in blowing a hole in Aizen's chest, his body hitting the floor, lifeless, but apparently Gin forgot something...

HE'S CAPTAN JACK SPARROW

Gin takes the Hōgyoku from Aizen, but Aizen revives...and he explains that he and the Hōgyoku are one...oh well that explains nothing.

So by Gin killing Aizen, Aizen evolves into his third form where he sprouts butterfly wings.

I forgot that when you kill the main good guy or bad guy in this show...they revive and they're 5 times more powerful than before, and don't forget, that's happened to Ichigo too.

So...If things couldn't get ANY worse, Aizen has evolved to a THIRD form...he's even MORE powerful than he was before, and Gin dies without explaining clearly what he was trying to do...and I said CLEARLY explaining.

Well finally our prayers are answered as Ichigo arrives looking much older and having the Dragon of Darkness Flame wrapped around his arm.

Yeah I saw that Mr. Kubo.

Well now that Ichigo's back he reveals something interesting, he apparently learned how to take all his spirit pressure and convert it to just physical power...weird how he's the only one who figured that out.

Ichigo now having learned the Final Getsgua Tenshou is stronger than Aizen.

Yes.

Ichigo is now stronger than Aizen.

So...does this mean that Ichigo can defeat Aizen? Well you would think so, Ichigo and Aizen fight for a while and Aizen starts to get desperate because his attacks aren't working, so he resorts to...

How can you care at THIS point?!

Really? He evolved again? A FOURTH form? So now he's even STRONGER than before?!

Ok seriously...No.

If you don't think it's ridiculous now then you're five years old.

Why is this necessary? Do you realize if this show keeps going there's going to be over 20 evolutions?! AM I GETTING THROUGH TO YOU PEOPLE AT ALL?!

Well Aizen's not the only one who can evolve, Ichigo then decides to use his Final Getsgua Tenshou.

And ok I'll admit, it looks cool.

BUT

There's two problems with this form, the first one is that if he uses it, he will loose all of his shinigami powers.

So...he uses it, he hits Aizen with everything he's got, he makes this HUGE blast that hits Aizen dead on...So there's no way in mess this can't finish off Aizen, I mean it's the most powerful attack in all of history, there's no way-

And this is my responce:

All hail Aizen! He has proven himself to be omnipotent, nothing can stop him, nothing can kill him...So everyone dies

Yes Bleach ends with Aizen killing Ichigo, creating the King's Key and destroying the King...which in turn destroys all existence....

Wait....What's this?! Well apparently way back when Aizen fought Urahara-Urahara put a second seal on Aizen which could only work if Aizen had become weak enough...so the Final Getsgua Tenshuo weakened him enough for this seal to take effect which seals Aizen away and the Hōgyoku abandons him so he can't rely on that anymore...so...yeah...Aizen gets sealed.

Well...that was...unexpected.

After that this entire story gets wrapped up in 3 manga chapters which is equal to...what? One episode?

And now Bleach has started a new story...........

................................................

Um.....what?

Well let's back track for a minute, Aizen gets sealed...he's tied up with black bands and the Central 46 banishes him to the lowest level of Muku, Ichigo faints because his powers are gone, he can no longer see Rukia because his powers are gone, and the chapter wraps up with him looking at the sky.

.................................................................................

Yeah...ummmm....what about...everything?

I compiled a list of things that the wrap up left unanswered:

Yeah did you notice that the end of this arc explains...nothing?

Seriously the show brings up all of these questions and then never answers them, and don't tell me the next story will answer it, No. You and I both know that all the questions should have been answered IN THIS STORY.

Let me remind all of you that this story has been about defeating Aizen. From the very begining (That being the 1,000 year flashback) Aizen has been the protagonist, it's ALL been about AIZEN.

We've all been through a 400 chapter journey through this story...for Kubo to tell THIS STORY, and if you're going to drag us all through this story...you better have a PAY OFF and a REASON to tell this story.

Nope.

I didn't get it, from when Ichigo and Grimmjow fought all the way to the end I never understood where the good part or any of the payoff's were...I'm guessing this was it:

Well may I remind you:

I think this is where Bleach and it's entirety died, IF the Final Getsgua Tenshou actually WORKED...then yeah maybe the entire series would have been worth it.

If it had worked...Bleach would have ended on an epic note.

But no...Aizen instead get's sealed, sentenced to 20,000 years and we now have started a brand new story?

........

HOW CAN YOU START A BRAND NEW STORY?

This story took 400....FOUR HUNDRED chapters to get to, why do we need a new story? What else is there? And if the new story goes back to Aizen then why didn't we just end the show with Aizen the right way at the start!?

Oh yeah and the Central 46 a long time ago were massicared by Aizen, now there's a new Central 46 that sentences Aizen...where and when and how were they replaced? How does that work? Is there a back-up Central 46 just in case?

Also they "say" that Aizen is immortal?

....wait

Aizen was immortal? Since when? How is it Aizen's immortal? When did he become immortal? And didn't he loose his powers? If he lost all his powers then how is he still immortal?

spikerman87@hotmail.com

here's my email address again...so go ahead and write your hate mail...go ahead....

You can't do it can you?And if you do at this point...then you didn't read the review you just skipped to this point...or...again you're 5 years old.

Ok so let's go over the kill count, Aizen survives alot of attempts, this is how many I counted, and these are the main ones, I probably left out a few but here they are:

Alright, I think I've beat the dead horse long enough, if you read this entire thing I commend you for your patience, if I have converted you then that's fine with me, if you still love Bleach with a passion then nothing will change your mind...Nothing anyone says or shows you will change your mind.

Don't get me wrong, I really liked this show, I was a big fan, look at my Deviant Art history, I had alot of Bleach fan art.

At some point this story went Rock Lobster BOTTOM and I can't recover after what it did to the audience and to me.

I think Kubo did a good job with the characters and the atmosphere and it's basic plot line...but there's so many plot holes and flaws and things that are never explained.

So I conclude my review with this:

Have a good day.
