Pointless Love Story Laws

Yeah this isn't a rant on one little thing in particular, but don't worry I won't be ranting on something more ridiculous than tooth paste or anything.

A love story now and then isn't a bad thing, for girls it's probably always good, but for guys...eh...it might be kinda weird to see us walking out of the theater by ourselves.

While love stories are apart of the most sucessful areas like books, movies, T.V. shows and so on...there are points that have to be taken to the beyond and further to make sure the boy and the girl love each other and nothing can tear them apart......Then again if something happens and they get over it...or if nothing happens at all the result is the same isn't it? So let's go over the pointless love story laws:

1. They break up

Break ups are about as pointless as buying a soda...then putting it in the fridge...what do you think will happen? You bought it for a reason...you want to drink it right? Your going to drink it...that's why you bought it right? My point is in every love story your introduced to a boy and girl...they may get along or they may not, but eventually they like each other...or they hide their feelings but you know they like each other...something happens...they get in a fight...they break up...and the next episode or chapter later...they're back together...that sure didn't last long did it?

2. One of them leaves somewhere

No this has never happened right?! If you've seen anything like Love Hina or Kenshin or any other show like that there's the part where the main boy leaves to go somewhere, while the girl is so sad that he's gone...And she starts thinking about "He left because he doesn't love me anymore."

"Oh don't cry, you'll see him in the next episode."

or some crap like that...and yes this doesn't last that long either, about a chapter or episode, could be longer but they eventually meet again where he gets slapped for leaving or they have a nice reunion.

"Oh don't cry, you'll see him in the-...why don't you go after him?!"

3. Another love interest pops up

This happens nearly every day, lol, it's sad but it's true, the guy and girl are all happy until wham! Another boy or girl shows up to steal the guy or girl away. And what do we always see? If it's a new girl she's usually clinging to him, and sometimes he doesn't mind being clinged to...while the other girl has red eyes and an intent to kill the other girl...

"Yeah..."

"You're dead missy."

If it's a new boy that meets the girl the main guy has to prove to the girl that he's better with competions or by fighting him or something else pretty ridiculous...but the end result comes to whether the boy or girl thinks that he/she isn't good enough for the other person...but then they end up together somehow anyways...and the new guy/girl is all alone...serves them right.

4. One of them has to save the other somehow

This doesn't show up as often I suppose, but at one point the girl or guy will fall sick...or wounded...or...I don't know they'll be out of commission somehow, and the other person must find something to make them better...And sometimes they have to do something really bad or illegal to save the other person...and they do it....because they really really love that person...but they would never say it to their face would they? No...never never ever. I remember one where the boy is in trouble and the girl does something to save him...but now she's out and the boy wants to save her....it's like never ending here!

5. One tries to tell how they feel

We've all seen this before, if it's a book or an episode where the whole thing is about the boy or girl trying to tell the other their true feelings...and it's mostly used for comic releief because....come on they never get to actually tell them do they? Some other person tries to stop them by throwing things at them or setting up traps...stuff like that, and at the end they're just fine with not being able to tell them how they really feel..........um....ok....

"What he's trying to say is....oh nevermind."

6. Men are stupid

Ladies, you all know this one is true, and it hasn't changed much since the begining of time, but for some reason we men think we have everything figured out...but when it comes to girls...we don't have a clue.

When a boy and girl get into a fight, and when one or both walk off, the guy has no idea what the fight is really about...if it's the dress or the shoes or the toilet paper being put in the handle wrong, it's always our responcibility to apologize to the girl about what happened...even if we didn't know what it was about...and even if it wasn't our fault!

"You idiot!!"

Some men consider women as an object...which is plain idiotic, some others don't take into consideration her feelings or that she has a mind of her own and doesn't need help in a certain area, and if someone tells a joke, and she doesn't laugh...it's not funny. Ladies you'll have to forgive us...we don't know any better...or we do and that's when we need a good slap in the face.

"Beware the love idiot that can't say the words."

7. Main Villain tries to seperate them

This is pretty classic because this has been going on before I was born, Snow White is a good example...the evil witch seperates Snow White and the prince by KILLING Snow White...yeah...that's...pretty much the way to do it. While maybe the villain isn't that evil, he or she will try other things to seperate them by traps, with other people, kidnap the girl or even disgusing themselves to make one of them fall in love with the villain...like the Little Mermaid for example.

"Foiled again!"

But they always see through the traps and stay together....or they didn't even know what the villain was doing and stay together.

"Oh clever, strapping a bomb to the girl.........that could work."

8. Parents decide who their child will marry

What's really sad about this is it happens in real life too. It happened all the time back in 1910, remember Alladin? That's kinda what the movie was all about. So what happens? It's usually the daughter who runs away from home to find someone else, or sometimes the arranged marriage works out somehow...But they're probably not happy with it. Most the time the boy that the girl really loves will break her out of the house or castle and they run away together...or something like that I don't know.

And the final one I can come up with is this:

9. One of them dies

Yes this one is by far the most common, Romeo and Juliet, Titanic, Forest Gump...ect. I guess for some creators of the story the only way it can be a good love story is for one of them to die, and sometimes it's the girl that dies, not just the boy. Well how does this usually go? Some idiot with a gun...or a sword...or something, the villian kills the main guy or girl, the other holds them in his/her arms...they say their final words...they die in the arms...and they say their name really loud...and there goes the credits or they cut to the scene where they were just buried...very nessissary indeed. To me a good love story doesn't have to mean that one of them dies...to be honest I prefer the "Happily ever after." Ending.

It's true isn't it? Can you name one love story that does not have at least ONE of these points? No you probably can't...If alot of love stories have these points...isn't it kinda like watching the same thing over and over again?!......It could be...Love stories are ok...I'm not saying their bad, but sometimes testing a couples relationship like this...probably isn't nessissary...I mean they love each other right? They're never going to be seperated no matter what...unless they actually do something DIFFERENT!
