MegaMan X8 Rant

MegaMan is one of my favorites, well actually the X series, I never liked the original MegaMan, and I bought all the X series of games, why? Because it was fun...up until MegaMan X5...And just like the Jason series, it went downhill, except for Command Mission, which I beleive is better than some of the originals, and there will be one day where I will Rant about the MegaMan universe as a whole, but for now, let's look at the last X game in the series, number 8

MegaMan has been a good franchise for the most part, with MegaMan X 1 to 3 on the Super Nintendo, and X4 and X5 being on the Playstation, and not all of them were perfect, I would suggest X2 and X4 aren't the best, however they're definetly worth playing an are very enjoyable to this day...but...X6, X7, and X8...Probably should have been done better, I know X6 is better than X7 and X8 combined, and X7 and X8 don't even move the story line forward at all, for some reason they add a whole new crisis to what's going on between robots and humans...Why couldn't these 3 cover the Elf Wars and what happens to them before the next series? But nevermind what about X8?

There's only one good thing I can say about this game, one of the old villians named Vile appears after being destroyed in X1 and X3, it was good to see him back...But why did he show up on this one of all games?!

MegaMan X8 is pretty bad, and that's not saying enough, the controls, the music, the characters, the bosses, the level designs, the weapons...uggh...It's just awful

One thing I hate are the character designs, the previous games they always look so cool and like they could take down a couple of Death Stars...But in this game they're all skinny and

One stage I could never forget is the gravity stage where you flip switches and the gravity changes and the stage flips around, and it made my head hurt, but the best part was this, take a look at the room in 3:25

..........................................................................

Do they want to be shot and murdered? What the crap is this?! That's not a challenge, that's cruel and unusual punishment! It might look easy because this guy was a friggin master, but if you look closely at the parts where the blocks say "That's it" and start moving randomly up and down, when they get to the floor or ceiling, the spike sticks out 0.5 seconds right after it hits and if you touch a spike it's instant death, and I don't know how he didn't get crushed at the last parts, because that's not how I did it, I stayed to the left and jumped and doged and jumped and doged for like 5 minutes...It's insane...There was a way to avoid it by fighting Vile but he only showed up twice after you had fought a number of bosses, and trust me if there was a time you wanted to fight Vile it was this one, and hey you had no knowledge of this at the time, so if you'd already fought him, tough, deal with it. After I died a couple of times, I got right up to the door and stopped and staired at it for 20 minutes thinking to myself..."What is the point of this room?" There is no point, except beating the boss which you could do blindfolded, the boss should be harder than the level!

So how sadistic could a level get? Apparently alot, kinda like this:

Ok let's get to the end...So who's the final boss? Well if you've ever played a MegaMan X game...Who would you think would be the boss Dr. Wily? Pffff, yeah right.

Sigma appears for the TENTH friggin time, to take over the world...Get a clue moron. So you fight Sigma on the Moon, but what happens next? Sigma dies...for the tenth time, and Lumithe appears, the person that Sigma captured......Although you fight her after Sigma and beat her too, for the second time ever, Sigma's not the final boss in an X game (Redips was first in Command mission) So after you beat her, something infects Axl, the heros go home, and you see something slithering in Axl's head...eww...

So what was it that infected Axl? Is Sigma dead for good now? Will Zero grow his hair back thicker? Will MegaMan and Alia get married?Well we'll never know because the number 9 is where Capcom draws the line...Seriously, there's not a MegaMan 9, or it's never been offically called 9, or a Mega 9 anything,.....And what happens next? Capcom moves right into MegaMan Zero...Explaining a huge story that we've never seen before, BUT BUT BUT! You never see it, you can only read about it in Ciel's diary......Bogus...So there's nothing to connect MegaMan X to MegaMan Zero.

For real? Why not?...Some fans might actually want to know what happens between sequals. Probably because they don't care anymore...Yeah ok but that doesn't mean we don't want to see it...We kinda got how Star Wars Episodes 1-3 would work...We didn't know exactly how it would work though...We still wanted to see them right?

But hey it's ok, this game has some cool secrets like this:

..............Wow......what a special...thing...to have in this game...

Oh I know! Unlockable characters! Who you ask? Why none other than the operators...

....Who are clones of the original 3...

.....................

You think that's bad, you have to buy them...So how much are they?

Well you would have to play the entire game over about 4 to 5 times in order to obtain enough money to buy just one of the characters.......

.......................like 400,000 metals or something

Ok we can do that...or just use the cheat codes.

Gee why didn't I think of that first?

So cheat codes would make this game better huh? No, not really, the 3 unlockable characters are just clones of the other 3....so there's no real point.

Ok so the game is ok...and it's bad...and Sigma is dead for good...but who cares? The game is still too difficult, sadistic, and unsatisfying anyways.
