Page 1---First attempts
Wednesday, July 23, 2008 Mido

Ok Mido's not my favorite character, but he's apart of the Deku chapter so he's got to be there. And remember, Mido's not bad, he's just drawn that way.

Tuesday, July 15, 2008 Bucket load of scenes

Straight from the manga...only in color

So those are good and all....but your saying right now "How about actually starting on the thing?" Right? Ok then look at this:

Awww it cuts off right when it gets interesting, lol, well yeah. By the way don't bomb me with emails saying "That's the opening?!" This is more a test run than anything, I'm not real sure how to start the movie off, but this was good to do at least.

Tuesday, June 17, 2008 Link sleeping

Detail is the key here, in the manga this the first actual picture of Link, there's not a whole lot to go by in the manga, I had to do the background from scratch, as for Link sleeping I captured what I thought it would be like to the exact frame.

Sunday, June 15, 2008 Link's entrance

If you've read the manga then this is how I'd imagen Link's entrance to the movie would be.

Friday, June 13, 2008 Link attacking

Tuesday, June 9, 2008 Link walking with gear

That might not look like much...but to me...that's huge...And I mean huge. It's so huge I can't even tell you...Last year I could not do this...6 years ago I could not do this, so I take this as an accomplishment

Sunday, June 8, 2008 Back drop

....eh...well that's not bad, and I know I haven't updated for a bit but this isn't bad for my first attempt at some scenery.

Friday, June 6, 2008 Link with gear

I think I'm getting better at drawing the different angles of Link...but now I think I need to work on the backgrounds and foregrounds of the forest because I've done ok with the characters, I think what will be difficult about the backgrounds is how much detail I can get away with before Flash crashes...because it is possible to overload Flash with too much detail...and that's why I don't draw every grass needle in my series'

Thursday, June 5, 2008 Link and the Kokiri Emerald

Suprize...you thought there was nothing left for me to draw with Link? Nope, the thing is when I did my series I would always do a front view and side view with the characters...or a 0 degree and 180 degree view, but as you know in anime and in real life there are more dimensions, in real life you always see all 720 degrees of a character.

360 degrees vertically which include top and bottom views and 360 degrees horizontally which are front to side to back to side to front views again.

But on my show it's usually 2 degrees, and I hope to break that and show you all the angles of the characters and that they're not just a flat drawing on a screen and I guess angle is I suppose around 50 to 60 degree angle

All I can say is...Crap...lol, I thought redoing the emerald spinning would be easier now...but it just looks...worse than the first attempt I did....Grrrr...I'm ripping my hair out now, 3D with Flash is a nightmare...I may have to do something else...or just not make it spin, I dunno.

Tuesday, June 3, 2008 Motion

Tody I'm going to teach you about Motion tweening. Flash works in frames, and there are 16,000 frames capable of one Flash file, or SWF. So when you've watched a 16 minute video of one of my episodes, you watch frames that move according to the Frames per second...kinda like a flip book, and depending on how fast you flip the pages you see the images in a sequence...and depending on how fast or slow you flip the book you see the images fast or slow. You already know what Motion Tweening is, you probably just don't know...for example:

This figure is motion tweened

This figure is edited frame-by-frame

Motion tween is basically an object moving smoothly, if I placed a circle on frame 1 at the left part of the screen and I make a tween for the ball to be on the right side at frame 50, it would move smoothly depending on the frame rate and how many frames are in between the tween. If the ball moves 10 frames it moves one second , if it's a thousand it moves in about a minute.

In most of the episodes I set the Frames per seconds to 16 to 18, and I set it so low so the episode can last longer, if I set it to 30 it would move much smoother, but only last maybe 8 minutes.

Motion tweening is used for close ups, and moving objects easily, but I some times prefer to move objects frame by frame, when you see a battle sequence motion tweening is not effective because you can't see it so fast, it would be the same as editing it frame by frame.

You remember this don't you? I tried really hard to make this move smoothly and to spin without flaw...it didn't work did it? Motion tweening is kinda like magic, but as Merlin once said it won't work every time.

Tuesday, June 3, 2008 Saria and the Deku Tree

Well I think Sara is ok for now, I had a hard time just drawing her face, let alone the rest of her or her side view...And as for the Deku Tree...well the color may be wrong but I'd say it's alot better than my first attempt...take a look down there.

Monday, June 2, 2008 Link front and back

I feel like I'm doing some good with this...and I'm actually tired...lol...I'll keep going but I think pretty soon I'm going to work on the other characters and the backgrounds.

Sunday, June 1, 2008 More on the Link model

See Link walk

See Link run!

And I have worked on more stuff but they're incomplete so far, I'll work on those and try to fix some of the errors I'm still having with smoothness.

Saturday, May 31, 2008 Link's new look

I'd say that's not bad for a few hours from working from scratch...do you?

Well that's a good start...but there's still much more to go...I feel like I did pretty good before but now...yeah I think I was crazy with the first model link I did last year.

Wednesday, May 7, 2008 Character designs

I'm pretty much gonna scrap the old character designs I did last year, being in the here and now...They look pretty sad to me. Here's what I mean:

See that? That's what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna shoot for this kind of look...And I know most of these aren't from the Ocarina manga, I'm just giving you an idea of what kind of design I'm going to do for the characters, the manga style, and no I'm not going to copy the manga exactly...It's just the manga does capture the characters look down to the pixle.

Wednesday, April 30, 2008 Update

I know I know, it's a crime that I haven't updated the log for about half a year, but I think it's time to say where I stand on the movie right now. Well I haven't worked much on it at all since the last update here, but I think during the summer I will have alot more time to work on it after I finish Eclipso, but before I start I have to go backwards, I'm going to re-do some of the characters I've already worked on to give them the most updated look I've created so far. After than I'll work mostly on the animation for the first movie. I want you to keep in mind that the first movie is what it is...The first movie, meaning it will not extend all the way through the story, here's how the Movies will be broken up:

Volume 1 Begining to where Link pulls out the Master Sword
Volume 2 Forest Temple to Water Temple
Volume 3 Shadow Temple to the End.

So the first movie will end at the part where Link is still ten years old. Now I want to share with you the changes that I personally want to make in the first movie, and there may be more on the way I'm not sure of that yet.

Change Reason
Remove the character Navi She's too annoying
Change the fight with the King Dodogon to outside the moutain To allow more time to add other scenes
Change the Inside Jabu Jabu dungeon with the Ice Cavern Fighting monsters inside a fish doesn't make much sense
Link first meets Zelda in the market place To have more of a bond between the two characters.
When Link pulls out the Master Sword he has a fight with Ganondorf in the sacred Realm and loses Ending the movie like in the game would be too anti-climatic
Link will talk Because he has to say something

Most of these changes are not just because I want to make them, but I want the audience (Not including Zelda fans) to understand what's going on, in other words people that have never played the game can follow along better. These are the biggest changes that I want to make, but if I get a thousand emails saying "No don't change that!" I may not.

Sorry there's not much else I can mention for now, but I ask you be patient because I will get it done, it just may take a while.
