Zelda Seven Dark Sorcerers Episode 27

Zelda Seven Dark Sorcerers Episode 27

Young Link goes back to face Vaati, but things get worse when he finds out that Young Zelda followed him. Can Link protect Zelda? Will he reach his transformation in time? Hold on to your seats because this is the big one!

I want to thank everyone for helping me get this far, the voice actors, fans, supporters, as this episode was the hardest animation to make on every level. I want to thank the voice actors for being patient with me and for the amazing job they all did. I couldn’t have done it without them.

Hope you enjoy and look forward to the next episode…I’ve already been working on it and it’s going to be a lot of fun. 🙂

The Next Game?

I’m curious about the next game I should try to make. I’m going to hold off on Cyber Zelda for a while, but I was interested in using the same programing to make a different game, so which one should be next?

SpikerMan game:
You can play as the main characters such as Spikerman, Scerpinder, Kelvar, and Sara and fight against SpikerMan’s most dangerous enemies like an Arcade side scroller.

Dead Artists Game:
You can play as me, ScootWHOOKOS, Son of Soh studios, and Kiki Rukata against an endless hoards of Zombies as we try to lock down the hotel to keep us safe.

Dark Sorcerers Game:
This would pick up with volume 2 where the group fights against Vaati in Kakariko town, up to the giant battle on Death Mountain.

The choice is yours!

Episode 27 Progress…

This last weekend I did an animation marathon, and as hard as I worked, I’m still not that close to finishing. I’d say I’m more than half way finished will all the parts, but I have a long way to go.

The episode will be split into three parts, and the first two parts are very dialogue heavy, and sadly the voice actors/actresses have all been very busy with their own lives so I don’t have anyone’s lines yet. I poke them here and there, and to be fair it’s a lot of dialogue so taking an hour or two out of their day is hard to do.

I will prepare you a little bit for the episode. (no spoilers) The first two parts have a lot of comedy, which is not what I usually do, I try to keep things serious as this is a “serious” show, but I stay away from comedy unless I think it’s really funny and worth doing. I’m pretty sure you’ll get some laughs and hope you enjoy them when they do come out.

Of course there will be the third part, which I don’t want to get into for obvious reasons.

On a technical level, this has been one of the more interesting episodes. I’ve used techniques that I’ve never tried before and have had some interesting experiences. Flash has been showing me errors and glitches I’ve never seen before, and remember I’ve been working with Flash for nearly 10 years.

Why? I don’t know.

Even though this has been happening I don’t think this will be a problem and the episode will be fine regardless of it’s unnatural file size.

I don’t have a realistic release date yet. There’s still a lot to do, but I’d hope for mid May.

April Foolsers.

I uploaded two things for April Fool’s day incase you missed it. On Deviant Art I posted a poster that celebrated Seven Dark Sorcerers being the “Worst” Zelda animated series which was presented by www.zeldaaprilfools.com

Second I uploaded the first Episode of Cyber Zelda which is available on Newgrounds. I thought it was appropriate to release it on April fool’s day. I’ve found errors and the game suffers from lag in some places and it was received as well as it probably could have been there. I probably went too far in some areas, but the game is ridiculous, the premise is ridiculous, and I came up with the game at a time when I was depressed and needed to make something fun and outrageous so I’m happy with the concept overall.

I’ve been working more on Episode 27. I’ve come up with some new effects which are pushing the limits of Flash more than I ever have. To give you an example: no flash file (swf) has ever been larger than 20MB before…part one is 30MB and it’s not finished yet. I’m concerned if the file will even play since I experienced so much lag on the Cyber Zelda game. We’ll see.

Also I’m trying a new layout. I think this one is more readable than the previous one, the other one looked neat but it wou-
ld break the the te-
xt like this and it was ann-
oying me.

Let me know which layout you liked better!

Updates of March.

I want to let you know what’s going on. I’ll be honest I haven’t worked on Episode 27 nearly as much as I would to this point; I’ve been trying to finish up projects that I started on a while back like Cyber-Zelda. Cyber-Zelda Episode 1 I’ll say is very very close to being finished like 95% finished. I have some people play test and they felt that the bosses were not balanced, either too hard or too easy, so I want to go back and change elements so it’s not unfair. I’ll also say for Seven Dark Sorcerers that this is the first time I’ve been making rewrites to the script, not in terms of retconning, it’s more getting as much character out of the characters I can, the next one has a few jokes that I’ve rewritten to be more funny. Certain elements have been changed and will look different from the finale trailer, and it’s to make sure everything fits and makes sense.

I’ve also realized that I will have to release Episode 17 part 4 for important plot point, so as difficult as it has been and will be…I’ll have to pick it up again, not sure when, and I know it’s been a running joke, but I will persevere and get that one finished in a few months.

The script for Episode 27 isn’t finished for one scene yet, but I know how it’ll all play out, so animation’s on it’s way.

Episode 27 preview and 26 aftermath.

I was very happy with how Episode 26 turned out. I was going for a over the top, grand scale battle and I think it worked well. I’ve been asked about if I would put the episode on youtube and I’ve run across every problem imaginable. I’m looking at better options with my recording software, as the one I had decided to crash even when I didn’t do anything. Even if I get every frame of the animation and it’s all smooth there’s the problems of Youtube’s copyright policy. I used a lot of music, and I know it will get flagged and blocked. I had a few more videos I wanted to do like different takes, and a funny video, and a commentary, but I’ll have to figure out a way to get the video to work.

Here’s the first screen for the next episode:

Episode 27 will reveal what happened to certain characters that have been missing for a long time, and we’ll see a rematch that everyone’s been waiting for.
